Chocolate makes the world go round! 😝
As requested here’s an easy but super yummy and moist chocolate cake recipe.
2 cups all purpose flour (called pastry flour in Ghana)
2 cups granulated sugar
¾ cup Cocoa powder ( I use Royale by Goldentree)
1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
1 ½ teaspoon baking soda
1 cup milk
¾ cup vegetable oil
3 tablespoon browning (optional for added dark colour)
1 cup warm water
2 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 teaspoon coffee (optional. For extra flavour)
Pan used: 9” greased and floured
1.Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius
2.Mix all dry ingrdients in a large bowl
3.Mix oil, eggs, milk and beat on medium speed for 2minutes.
4.Mix in wet mixture into dry ingredients and mix for 30secs until well incorporated.
5.Stir in warm water. Then vanilla essence. Do not overmix!
6. Pour into pan and place into preheated oven. Its best to place in the centre of the oven
Baking time 35-45min
Bake until a skewer inserted into it comes out clean
Cool in pan for 5 min then on wire rack until completely cool
As always do not open oven within the first 30 minutes to prevent cake from sinking.
Tadaaa….. moist yummy chocolate cake😋😋
Best served with frosting or whipping cream.
